The Indian team has been announced for the World Test Championship Final. India has to play this big match against Australia from June 7 to June 11 this year at the Oval ground in London. A 15-member squad has also been announced for both teams.
Regarding Team India, KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane have returned after 1 year out of the last two Test matches against Australia in this squad. Apart from this, Suryakumar Yadav has no place in the squad.
Wicket-keeper batsman Shrikar Bharat is also named in this 15-member squad. In such a situation, the question arises: in this important match against Australia, will India go with KL Rahul, or will Shrikar Bharat get a chance to play XI? Apart from this, will Ajinkya Rahane have a place in the playing eleven? For wicketkeeping, Sunil Gavaskar has chosen KL Rahul instead of KS Bharat. Besides this, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin have made their place in the team as all-rounders. Sunil Gavaskar has kept Jaydev Unadkat, Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj in his team as fast bowlers.
Sunil Gavaskar said on the selection of Ajinkya Rahane, “This was the only change needed in the team. India needed another player instead of Shreyas Iyer. Rahane has not been selected in the team because of his form in IPL. He has come into the team after playing brilliantly in Ranji.”
