WPL 2023 Eliminator: Mumbai Indians Thrases UP Warriorz By 72 Runs, Nat Sciver-Brunt Fires

The first edition of the Women’s Premier League has reached its last stage. In the first eliminator played at DR Dy Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai Indians beat UP Warriorz by 72 runs to confirm their seat in the final.

UP Warriorz captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and asked Mumbai Indians to bat first. Mumbai utilized this opportunity and hung 182 runs on board at the loss of four wickets in all 20 overs. Nat Sciver-Brunt scored the maximum for the team and gathered 72 runs in just 38 balls with the help of 9 fours and two massive sixes. Apart from her, Melie Kerr also got 29 runs.

For UP, Ecclestone got two wickets, while Anjali Sarvani and Parshavi Chopra grabbed a one-one wicket each.

While chasing the target of 183 runs, UP did not have a great start and they lost their wickets after a fixed interval of time. At last, they were Bundled out on 110 runs in 17.4 overs. Kiran Navgire(43), showed some good hands with her bat but she was not enough alone to take UP home.

For Mumbai, Issy Wong from England clinched four wickets. Saika Ishaque had two in her kitty.

For playing a blistering knock of 72 runs Nat Sciver-Brunt was picked as the player of the match.
