Sunrisers Hyderabad is one of such teams who had a very IPL auction that happened last year in December. They got some star names like Harry Brook and Mayank Agarwal. They also bagged West Indian all-rounder Akeal Hosein in the auction who can change the game with his all-around performance.
Apart from these three names mentioned above, SRH already has some gun players in the name of Umran Malik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Abdul Samad, Aiden Markram, etc. However, former SRH and Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathaan has picked a player and termed him as the ‘Trump Card’ for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2023.
The former Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathan believes that the new signing Adil Rashid will be a crucial player for the team in the upcoming IPL 2023. Rashid was purchased by SRH for INR 2 crore in the auction and he played a significant part in England’s T20 World Cup victory last year under the captaincy of Jos Buttler.
Pathan claims Rashid Khan is an excellent bowler who can bat and bowl with the new ball as well in the power plays. With so much experience, he could be an asset to the SRH.
“Adil Rashid, the quality of spin bowling that he brings to the table. He has been excellent for England also and he is a wonderful wicket-taking bowler. Plus, he can bowl with the new ball too. He can bowl in the middle overs and in the death overs too! We will see him play a new role now”, Pathan said on Star Sports.
Sunrisers Hyderabad had a disappointing season in the 2022 IPL edition, finishing third from the bottom on the points table with only 12 points. They won only six matches out of 14. To date, SRH has only one trophy which they won in the year 2016 under the captaincy of David Warner.
