The ODI World Cup in India is coming in no time and all the teams have started giving final touch to their preparations. Pakistan is considered a formidable contender for the World Cup and they have the similar condition that of India in their country as well. However, the Babar Azam-led team will have to cope without the enthusiastic support of their fans, who may not be able to attend matches in India in large numbers.
Captain Babar Azam is optimistic that they will receive a similar level of support in India with the fact that most of the tickets from the Pakistan match have been already sold out. Babar mentioned that he has heard from former cricketers that they have received support in India and he is hopeful that they will experience the same level of backing and interest for this team as well.
While having a press conference, Babar Azam said,”I’ve seen that all of our matches have been sold out even when we’re playing with other countries, the stadium is packed. It’s a good thing that the fans over there are supporting us and showering their love on us. Whenever we go there we get love from their fans. I’m going for the first time but those who’ve gone there before have said that you get good support there. But we will miss our fans.”
Babar Azam was also asked about his low batting performance against the men in blue. Babar Azam has just one fifty to his name across 11 innings which he has played against India. He said that he is very excited to play in front of the fans of India in Ahmedabad.
