Women’s Premier League Player’s Auction Date Announced; Check Full Update

The BCCI is set to hold the Women’s IPL (Women’s Premier League) in 2023. Media rights were auctioned earlier this month, and a few days ago, the teams participating in the league were also announced. Now waiting for the auction of the Women’s Premier League players. This is the first time an auction will happen in India for women players.

Last year, former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly announced that the women’s IPL would start in 2023. Now the teams have been decided. It has to be seen which superstar will be seen in the jersey of which team.

The BCCI has yet to officially announce any date for the Women’s Premier League players auction. However, according to the report, this auction will be organized on February 10 or 11 in the country’s capital Delhi. India’s women’s star players and many big foreign names are also included in the auction list. Their fate will be decided in this auction.

Five franchises will participate in the auction. BCCI secretary Jai Shah tweeted that a bid of 4669.99 was made for five teams. Adani Sports Line Pvt Ltd bid Rs 1289 crore for the Ahmedabad team, which became the league’s most expensive team. Reliance’s own company India Win Sports Pvt Ltd, spent Rs 912.99 crore for the Mumbai team.
Bangalore Royal Challengers Sports Pvt Ltd of the men’s IPL also bought the Bangalore team in the Women’s Premier League, for which they had bid Rs 901 crore. JSW GMR Cricket Pvt Ltd bought the Delhi team for Rs 810 crore, while Capri Global Holdings will own the Lucknow women’s team. For this, they spent Rs 757 crore.
