Will Virat Kohli Play In SA20 League? AB de Villiers Gives A Hint

The former South African veteran AB de Villiers is eager to see Virat Kohli participate in at least one season of SA20. Serving as the newly appointed ambassador for the lucrative tournament, de Villiers gave his opinion and said that the Indian veteran might join the T20 competition in South Africa after retiring from his international career.

Kohli is regarded as one of the prime batsmen in the current era and has displayed unparalleled prowess in the T20 format. The former captain of India holds the distinction of being the highest run-scorer in IPL history where he has 7,263 runs in 237 matches at an average of 37.24. This includes seven centuries to his name.

While having a conversation with India Today, Ab de Villiers said, “Definitely, Virat. Get Virat over there. Hopefully, as soon as he’s done with his career, come and play one season in the BetWay SA 20. That would be amazing.”

Both Virat Kohli and de Villiers shared an extensive bond playing together for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL. Ab de Villiers has already marked himself retired from the tournament, while Virat Kohli is still playing for the team.

On being asked if de Villiers sees himself as the coach of RCB in the near future, the former African said, “I hope so. I mean, my heart is with the RCB. I’ve played there for many, many years. I’ve got a very good connection with the fans of Bangalore, and I’ll always be appreciative of all the support and love over the years. I can’t guarantee anything, but I would absolutely love to see myself in the RCB colors again in the future.”
