WI vs IND: What Rohit Sharma Said About R Ashwin And Jadeja After The 1st Test Win?

India won the first Test against West Indies by an innings and 141 runs. Indian captain Rohit Sharma is delighted to have this win and revealed that the team was not thinking to bat again hence they batter for long and deep. He also appreciated the senior players and their experience of how they supported the team to win the match.

Skipper Rohit Sharma praised the key player R Ashwin who got 12 wickets in this match. In the first innings, the cricketer from Chennai took five wickets and restricted the home team to a score of 150. In the second innings, Ashwin’s exceptional performance led to West Indies only managing to reach a total of 130 while he picked up seven wickets. In the spin-friendly conditions of Dominica, Ravindra Jadeja also showcased his skills for which skipper Rohit Sharma praised the spin duo of Team India.

After the match, Rohit said,”I would like to start by saying it was a great effort with the ball. Getting them out for 150 set the game for us. We knew batting would get tough, it wasn’t easy to score runs. We knew we wanted to bat only once and bat long. Got over 400 runs and then we came out and bowled really well.”

He further stated,”The results speak for themselves, they have been doing it for a while. There isn’t much to tell them, it is about giving them the freedom to express. The experience these guys have on pitches like this is always a luxury. Both Ash and Jadeja were superb, specially Ashwin for coming out and bowling this way was class.”
