Why Were Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan Snubbed From BCCI Contracts? Ex-Indian Star Asks BCCI

Two of the most talented young batters, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan, were terminated from the Central contract by BCCI. Several speculations were made about the reasons for the possible termination of contracts for both of these players.

As soon as the central contract was announced, BCCI made it mandatory for each and every centrally contracted player to play domestic cricket if not selected for any international series.

Both Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan made themselves unavailable for selection in their respective states for Ranji trophy selection. While a lot of buzz and speculations are already being made, Ex-Team India’s star batter, Robbin Uthappa, wants to know the real reason behind the contract snub of both players.

In his recent interaction with Hindustan Times, Robbin Uthappa said,I think we are individuals, and perhaps today, I see myself on your side of the table as well. As a broadcaster, I also want to know the answers. I also like to know what the truth is. Having said that, we won’t know what the truth is unless it’s spoken by the stakeholders of this piece, and that is the players themselves and the ones involved with the players themselves, and that’s the captain, the coaches, and the support staff.”

Robbin further stated,I think we’ll only keep speculating about all of it until we hear from these players in particular or from the selectors in particular. And I think we can all speculate as much as we want. But for me, I would like to reserve until I actually know for sure what’s happened and what transpired.”

Both Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan will be seen in action in the upcoming IPL season. While Shreyas Iyer is going to lead KKR in the upcoming IPL season, on the other hand, Ishan Kishan will be seen playing for the Mumbai Indians.
