Why Is Chahal Not Playing In The 2nd ODI Against Sri Lanka? Rohit Sharma Reveals The Reason

As India announced the playing XI of the second ODI against Sri Lanka, fans were astonished by not seeing Yuzvendra Chahal’s name on the team. However, the team’s skipper Rohit Sharma has revealed why Chahal is not playing the 2nd ODI.

According to the captain, Chahal is suffering from an injury and was not perfect to be picked in the playing XI. Chahal got a shoulder injury during the first match in Guwahati while fielding. Let us tell you that the first match between India and Sri Lanka was played on Tuesday, January 10.

Speaking at the time of the toss Chahal said, “We have a forced change, Kuldeep (Yadav) comes in place of (Yuzvendra) Chahal, who injured himself by diving the other day.”

In Guwahati, Chahal had a bad day where he went for 58 runs in 10 overs at the cost of one wicket only.

The Indian Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav has replaced Chahal in the playing XI for the second ODI.

India: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Mohammed Shami, Umran Malik, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav.
