Why IPL Franchisees And BCCI Are Going With Conflict? How Would It Affect IPL 2023

On the issue of players’ workload management, the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) conflict. One of the franchises reportedly told The Telegraph that the BCCI cannot instruct them to rest the player. According to the report, the majority of franchises are now unclear of the BCCI’s remark on workload management, and the board will shortly schedule a franchise meeting in this respect.

One of the franchise officials told the media,” The BCCI cannot direct a franchise to rest a player unless he is unfit. After all, the players have a contract with the franchises.”

He further added, “The franchises also hire physios and masseurs who have worked with national teams earlier and so there’s nothing to panic about for the BCCI.”

The BCCI has stated that the National Cricket Academy (NCA) will collaborate with the IPL franchises to monitor the targeted Indian players competing in the IPL 2023 at its review meeting with the management of Team India on New Year’s Day.

The assertion was made for two different reasons. India failed miserably at the ICC T20 World Cup, and now that the ICC ODI World Cup is taking place, the BCCI wants to regulate the players’ workload.
