After India’s remarkable performance in the current ODI series against Australia, former England captain Michael Vaughan has made a huge prediction for the ODI World Cup. Seeing the outstanding batting performance from team India in the second ODI, Vaughan expressed that one needs to beat team India in order to get the World Cup trophy.
In the second ODI against Australia India beat Australia by 99 runs from the DLS method. The match was played at Holkar Stadium, Indore on September 24. In this match, both the batting and bowling department of team India shined to a full extent.
Team India is currently the number one ranked side in the ODI ranking and they will enter the ODI World Cup with a huge motivation. India got this achievement after beating Australia by five wickets in Mohali.
While talking to his X(twitter) account, the former England batter Vaughan said,”It’s quite clear to me… Whoever beats #India will win the WC… India’s batting line up on Indian pitches is ridiculous… Plus they have all the bowling options covered… it’s only the pressure of the burden that could stop them.”
Australia won the toss and invited team India to bat first. While batting first, team India scored a mammoth 399 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. After that rain interrupted the match and Australia got a revised target of 317 runs in 33 overs. While chasing this target, Australia was all-out for 217 runs in 28.2 overs.
