Who Is Mukesh Kumar? The Bowler Who Got Maiden India Call Up Before Umran Malik

On 2nd October BCCI announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming 3-match ODI series against South Africa. Shikhar Dhawan as usual is the captain of the side and Shreyas Iyer has been appointed as the vice-captain.

This 15-member squad suddenly started making headlines when the fans saw an unfamiliar name which is Mukes Kumar. The right-arm pacer from West Bengal has been brilliant for some years and his selection is justified as he has some outstanding figures playing for his state team.

In the recent Ranji Trophy, Mukesh Kumar got some movement with the ball and claimed 20 wickets in just 5 matches for Bengal. He did not stop here, playing for the Rest Of India, he picked four wickets in the first inning against Saurashtra in the ongoing Irani Cup.

The arm pacer is continuously doing well and this was the reason he got the maiden India call-up ahead of Umran Malik.

Mukesh has played 30 first-class matches in his career till now in which he has 109 scalps.

Talking about his family background, Mukesh Kumar hails from Bihar and was born on 12th October 1993. He made his first-class debut in the year 2015-16 Ranji Trophy edition and now he has finally knocked on the door of the Indian Cricket team with his stellar performance.
