Which Privileges Will Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan Miss Out on After Being Removed From BCCI Central Contracts?

The board of Cricket Control in India has gotten into action as it took a bold decision by axing two of India’s young batsmen, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan, from the Central contract.

The fact that the two players made themselves unavailable for the Ranji Trophy in spite of not playing for India on an international level was the main reason for the termination of their contract.

After the contract for all the players was released, BCCI said, “Please note that Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were not considered for the annual contracts in this round of recommendations,” the BCCI statement further added. “The BCCI has recommended that all athletes give precedence to participating in domestic cricket during periods when they are not representing the national team.”

Earlier, BCCI’s secretary, Jay Shah, made it quite clear that the players should participate in the domestic matches if they are not playing matches for Team India. However, after their snub from the Central contract, both Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer have returned to Compititve Cricket.

Kishan is currently playing in the DY Patil tournament, and Shreyas, on the other hand, has been named in Mumbai’s Ranji squad for the semifinals of the tournament.

So now what are the perks that both of these players are going to miss?

So as per the report, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer are going to miss a lot of promotions as they are axed from the Central contract. Players from the Central contract are given a maximum fixed retention amount other than their contract.

Other than that, the centrally contracted players are allowed to use NCA as per their needs, while other players need to get clearance from state authorities to use NCA.

Also, the centrally contracted players get insurance coverage.
