KL Rahul Ruled Out, Jasprit Bumrah Will Play In The Fifth Test Or Not? Here Is An Update From BCCI

KL Rahul who was initially in doubt for the final Test due to fitness issues, has been officially ruled out of the fifth and concluding Test in Dharamsala.

The BCCI Medical Team is actively monitoring his condition and working in conjunction with specialists in London to seek further guidance.

Jasprit Bumrah was released from the squad for the 4th Test in Ranchi and is set to rejoin the team in Dharamsala for the 5th Test.

Meanwhile, the off-spin all-rounder Washington Sundar has been released from the squad to join his Ranji Trophy side Tamil Nadu for their Semi-final against Mumbai starting on March 2nd, 2024. He will potentially join the Indian squad for the fifth Test after the conclusion of the domestic fixture.

Earlier it was also reported that Rajat Patidar will be rested for the fifth game and in place of him the star left-handed batter Devdutt Padikkal will make his debut for team India.

Patidar has got some significant chances in the team in the absence of star players like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, but he failed miserably in the serie against England.

India’s updated squad for the 5th Test: Rohit Sharma (C), Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), KS Bharat (WK), Devdutt Padikkal, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep.
