Former India veteran, and all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, has lashed out at rising stars Rinku Singh and Mandeep Singh. The Kolkata Knight Riders batters put up a disappointing performance on Thursday, and the entire team could score 127 runs in 20 overs. Delhi Capitals registered their first win in the season.
Rinku Singh made many headlines by hitting five consecutive sixes against Gujarat Titans, but against Delhi Capitals, he got out after scoring just 6 runs in 8 balls. Mandeep Singh also lost his wicket by playing a bad shot after scoring 12 runs.
Yuvraj Singh expressed disappointment over the performance of both of these batsmen. Yuvi tweeted, “I am not happy with the thinking of Mandeep Singh and Rinku Singh in this situation. It doesn’t matter how much faith you have. When wickets are falling, you need to build partnerships. Till the 15th over, you should have stayed at the crease playing like ODI cricket because Andre Russell has to come to play for you in the end.”
Yuvraj Singh’s anger was justified as Rinku Singh and Mandeep Singh had chances to finish the innings, but both lost their wickets by playing bad shots. KKR batted first and got all out for 127 runs on the last ball in the 20th over. In response, Delhi Capitals achieved the target by losing 6 wickets in 19.2 overs.
Batting first after losing the toss, Kolkata scored 127 runs in 20 overs. Jason Roy scored 43 runs in 39 balls, and Andre Russell played an unbeaten inning of 38 runs in 31 balls. In response, the Delhi team was easily moving towards victory at one time. David Warner was out after scoring 57 runs. However, wickets regularly fell after this, and Kolkata returned in the match.
In the end, Delhi needed seven runs in six balls. Axar Patel gave the victory. Axar played an unbeaten inning of 19 runs in 22 balls. There, Lalit Yadav remained unbeaten after scoring four runs.
