One of the biggest players, turbnator Harbhajan Singh, extended his support to both Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan after the duo were axed from BCCI’s Central contract.
Harbhajan Singh said that this exclusion from the contract is not the end of the road for both players; however, Harbhajan feels that their selection in the future will be done only after looking at the team’s combination.
In his interaction with Hindustan Times, Harbhajan Singh said, Every player is available for the selection process. Now, whether they will be selected is a different aspect because it depends on their form and whether the team requires their services. Just because they didn’t get a contract doesn’t mean it’s the end of the road for them.”
Earlier, BCCI made it compulsory for each and every centrally contracted player to play domestic cricket if they were not playing any international series for the country. Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan lost their contracts as they were neither playing domestic nor international cricket.

Speaking about the same the former spinner said, “It’s a learning step for them.
Whatever step was taken was for their betterment; that is how they should take it. I look at this in a rather constructive way because, from hereon, I feel they could emerge as better players. But we still do not know what was going on in their heads. They are both brilliant cricketers, and I feel they will win a lot of matches for India in the future.”
