Kapil Dev mentioned that Dhoni had proven himself over the past 15 years and questioned why there is so much focus solely on Dhoni. He emphasized that Dhoni has done his part, and we should be grateful for his contributions. Dhoni has led the Chennai Super Kings to four IPL titles as captain.

Talking to ABP News, former world champion captain Kapil Dev said that MS Dhoni has been playing in IPL for 15 years. Why is it that we are only talking about Dhoni? He has done his work. What more do we want from him? Do we want him to play for the rest of his life? It’s not going to happen. Instead, we should be thankful that he played for 15 years.

In a conversation with ABP News, Kapil Dev highlighted Dhoni’s achievements, including leading India to victory in the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. Kapil Dev expressed admiration for Dhoni’s performances so far. He suggested that regardless of whether he plays in the next season of the IPL, his impact has been significant. Despite not scoring big runs, Dhoni has led the team to the finals, showcasing the importance of a captain’s role in cricket.

MS Dhoni holds an impressive record in the IPL, being the only player to captain over 200 matches. He has accumulated 5082 runs in 249 IPL matches, averaging 39 and 24 half-centuries. His strike rate stands at 136, including 239 sixes. In the IPL 2023 season, Dhoni has scored runs at a strike rate of 186 and hit 10 sixes. It’s worth mentioning that Dhoni bid farewell to international cricket in 2020.
