What Clues Did AB De Villiers Provide In Response To Sunil Gavaskar’s Statement On Virat Kohli Not Playing IPL?

The 17th season of the IPL is going to go underway in just a few days. The opening encounter of the upcoming cricket carnival is set to be played between the Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22 in Chepauk.

However, ahead of the start of the IPL, former Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar recently raised questions about participation in the IPL.
The stalwart pulled out of the England series as both Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were expecting the birth of their second child.

In his recent interaction with Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “Kya woh khelenge… kuchh reason ke liye khel nahin rahe hain, shaayad ho sakta hai ke IPL ke liye bhi na khele.”

Now Virat’s former RCB teammate and best friend, Ab Devilliers, drops a major hint about Virat’s participation in the IPL.

In a video on his YouTube channel, Ab Devilliers said, “Nothing has been confirmed yet. Virat Kohli has hinted that he might want me to come over just to spend a bit of time with him and some of the batter, perhaps. Nothing has been confirmed yet. I think the call has got to come from Andy Flower, Faf, and the team. But for now, I am just going to be in Mumbai for the first few weeks of the IPL. I am doing a bit of commentary, so do watch our live streams. I will be back at the backend for the knockouts.”

Virat Kohli has been out of action for the last two months. The veteran was last seen playing for India in January, when India played Afghanistan in a three-match T20 series.
