What Captain Hardik Pandya Said After The First T20I Loss Against West Indies

West Indies defeated India by 4 runs in the first T20I match with a splendid performance by their bowlers. Along with this, West Indies clinched the T20I 1-0 in the 5-match series. In this match, debutant Tilak Varma showcased a good batting performance from the Indian side.

After the close defeat by four runs to the West Indies, Indian captain Hardik Pandya came forward with an enthusiastic analysis after the loss. Despite the visitors missing a chance to secure an advantage in the five-match series, Pandya came with a composed and positive perspective for the Indian cricket team.

After the match, Pandya said,”We were right in the chase. We made some errors which cost us, but it is fine.”

He said that this team has a good understanding of the game and they are learning from the mistakes. Pandya said,” If you lose wickets, it becomes difficult to chase down a total. When we lost a couple of wickets [in a row]… it cost us.”

In this match against West Indies, Indian captain Hardik Pandya surprised everyone with his choices and got three spinners in the playing XI as Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Pandya explained the logic behind this and said,””The bowling combination [of three spinners] was down to the conditions. We wanted Yuzi and Kuldeep to play together, and Axar brings batting.”
