‘We should start living without Bumrah as….’ Akash Chopra Highlighted Major Injury Concern Of Bumrah

Indian veteran pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out from the ODI series against Sri Lanka. He will probably miss the first test match against Australia in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Speaking on this, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra asked a question about excluding Jasprit Bumrah from the Sri Lanka series.

“I am slightly worried because he has not played cricket since September. Perhaps it’s time to get ready to live without Bumrah. He played an ODI match in between, where he got injured and didn’t come back. He then comes and goes back again,” said Chopra on his YouTube Channel.

Aakash also added that the repeated absence of Jasprit Bumrah is not good for the Indian team because he needs enough practice and missed the last world cup in Australia.

“His name comes in the team, and then he is not there. He was a late inclusion here and was out again. It’s not a good story because it is a World Cup year, and you have already missed the last World Cup.” Chopra further added.

The renowned commentator also suggested the name of a bowler who can be named as the replacement for Jasprit Bumrah. He explained that Bumrah is irreplaceable, but the Indian team can go with Mohammad Siraj, Umran, Shami, and Arshdeep because they have performed really well recently. Prasidh Krishna can also be added to the team if he is fit.

“Although there is no one like Bumrah and will not be there as well at this point, the good thing is that you have Mohammed Siraj the way his stature has grown, Umran Malik is doing well, Mohammad Shami does well in ODIs, Arshdeep Singh is ready, I am not sure about Prasidh Krishna’s injury, but he is also looking okay” suggested Chopra.
