Watch VIDEO: Sachin Tendulkar Visits Kashi Vishwanath Temple For Worship

Former Indian cricketer and one of the legends of the game, Sachin Tendulkar visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple on Saturday. He performed rituals and offered prayers at the temple. On this special occasion, he was accompanied by other former cricketers such as Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Ravi Shastri, and some officials from the BCCI.

The 50-year-old cricket legend, widely known as “little master,” visited the holy city to participate in the ceremony where the foundation stone for the upcoming international cricket stadium in the city was laid.

A multitude of legendary figures and iconic personalities were invited to the event. The land for the stadium was procured for Rs 121 crore, and the BCCI will allocate Rs 330 crore for its construction.

The stadium is planned to be constructed with design elements that pay homage to the sacred culture of the city in Uttar Pradesh. It will include distinctive features such as crescent-shaped roof covers, floodlights designed like a trident, patterns of bel leaves, and one of the structures shaped like a ‘damru,’ a hand percussion instrument associated with Lord Shiva.

The ODI World Cup 2023 is going to commence on October 5 where the defending champion England will take on New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Currently, all the teams are giving the final touch to their preparation for the upcoming 50-over game.

Not to forget, India and Australia will play their first match in the ICC ODI World Cup on October 8 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Currently, both the teams are up to each other for a three-match ODI series. The first game of the tournament happened on September 22 where men in blue beat the Aussies by five wickets, taking a lead of 1-0.
