The 13 runs win of Netherlands over South Africa, clears the path of the Pakistani team to the semis. On Sunday, the major upset happened in the T20 World Cricket Cup 2022, where the minnow Netherlands defeated Proteas in the last game of the Super 12 thriller encounter.
For the Pakistani cricket team and their cricket fraternity, Nov 6th is one of an incredible day because after losing two consecutive games at the start of the T20 World Cup, they were not thinking of Semi Final spot. But with the Dutch extraordinary performance against mighty South Africa cleared their path to Semi-Final.
Playing against Bangladesh Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi shined for the first time in this marquee tournament and took 4 wickets in his quota of four overs. Afridi took the main batters of the opponent and helped to restrict Bangladesh on 127/8 in 20 overs. In the third over of the game he grabbed the wicket of dangerous Liton Das, and when the Bangladeshi try to accelerate the innings in the death over he dismissed Mosadddek Hossain and Nurul Hasan in the 17th over and made the opponent kneel down, then in the last over he took the wicket of Taskin Ahmed.
Pakistani team easily chased down the total with 11 balls to spare. This is the best moment for the Green Army because they have to play the semi-final against New Zealand on Nov 9th at Sydney Cricket Ground. The best slice for Green Army is that their most of the player gets their form back and hopefully, they will give a tough fight to the kiwis.

After the match, Shaheen Shah Afridi attended the post-match presentation, he thanked all the fans who have been with the team after two consecutive losses at the starting of the tournament. “Fans ki vajah se hi ham semi-final me pahuche hain. Unki dua hai, jo apne log karte hain. Mera ye hai ki kabhi kabhi dil ko lagta hai ki jo hamaare top ke cricketer hain, unko chahiye ki mushkil time me vo team ko support karein. Ye nahi ki ham semi-final aur final jeete, fir support kare. Team ko support uss time chahiye jab team haare. Logon ki dua ki vajah se ham semi-final jeete, unka support hamesha hamaare saath hai. (We reached the semi-finals because of fan’s prayers. I feel sometimes in my heart that our top cricketers need to support us at our difficult time, and not when we reach semi-finals or finals. Team needs support when we lose. We won because of the fans’ prayers and their support),” Afridi said.
