Cricket may not be played globally but some of its players have become global superstars. Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar are some of the most well known cricketers from India.
These three have made a lot of money not only by playing cricket but also by endorsing brands. Ravi Shastri, the former India coach, spoke to some retired English cricketers and was asked how much some of these players earn. Shastri’s answer surprised everyone.
Michael Vaughan, former England captain, asked Shastri on the Stick To Cricket Podcast, How much do these famous players in India make?
The former India coach replied: They make a good amount. It comes from endorsements, for sure, and it’s more than 100 crores.
When asked, How much is that? Shastri said: 10 million pounds. I would just say 100 rupees is one pound. You can figure it out from there, because it can be even more.

Shastri said that top players like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar could have done even more commercials when they were at their best but it would be hard to fit them into their busy schedules.
Shastri said on the podcast that when MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli or Sachin Tendulkar were at their best, they would do more than 15-20 commercials. Plus, it’s per day. There is no time.
