Watch: How Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar celebrated India’s victory at Delhi Airport, Fans Go crazy’

Team India was warmly greeted when they arrived in New Delhi on Thursday morning. Following their victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, Rohit Sharma and the team returned to India on a special flight organized by the BCCI. As they arrived, many fans were there to meet them, holding signs to celebrate the team’s win. Despite the rainy weather in Delhi, fans came early to see their favorite players. After landing at the Delhi airport, the players, their families, and the staff members got on a team bus and went to the ITC Maurya hotel.

The hotel staff prepared a special cake and drinks in the colors of the Indian flag to welcome the team. Another highlight was the setup with traditional dhol.

The sound of the dhol made players like Suryakumar Yadav and captain Rohit Sharma very happy, and they joined the dancers in dancing to the music.

The whole crowd became extremely excited when they saw their favorite players dancing and celebrating India’s win in an ICC event , which hadn’t happened in 11 years.

“We’ve been waiting for this moment for 13 years. The team has made us very proud by winning the World Cup,” said a fan who had been waiting since 4:30 in the morning, talking about India’s last World Cup win in 2011.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and other team members had been in Barbados, where the final match took place, since Monday because airports were closed due to a hurricane hitting the Caribbean city. But after a special flight was arranged for Team India, they were able to arrive early Thursday morning. The players are now planning to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and then have a parade on an open-top bus in Mumbai.

Air India gave the flight bringing India back home a special name: AIC24WC, which means Air India Champions 24 World Cup.

Later today, around 11 am, the team will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the capital city.

After that, they will go to Mumbai. There, they will have a special event to celebrate winning the T20 World Cup. The players and their helpers will arrive in Mumbai by 4 pm. Then, they will have a big party on a bus with no roof for two hours, driving around the city.
