Gautam Gambhir’s strong comment on the Babar Azam is trending in the cricket world fraternity. After Shahid Afridi, now Pakistani legendary cricketer Wasim Akram gave a notable remark on Gautam’s statement.
After losing two consecutive games, the green army is now standing at the door to exit from the T20 World Cup 2022. The whole team’s performance was not even close to the expectation of the fans and experts, and as a result now, they are dependent on the other team’s result for semis, which is almost impossible if any upset doesn’t happen in the upcoming matches of Super 12 Group 2.
The star batter and skipper of the green army Babar Azam’s performances are very poor in this tournament and not only in the batting but also he failed with the leadership role. Pointing out the disastrous performance of Babar Azam, Gautam Gambhir said that the Pakistani skipper is a selfish “captain.”
During the discussion, Pakistani legendary pacer Wasim Akram was asked about the Gambhir’s furious statement. In the Interference, Akram showed respect toward Gautam and stated that everyone has his own opinion.
“That’s his opinion. Gautam Gambhir is a successful captain in IPL (Indian Premier League). He had won IPL trophy twice with KKR. He was one of the top players of his time. He has a right to give their opinion. And that’s his opinion,” Akram said.
Pakistan will play their next encounter against Group 2 topper team South Africa, and they will try to win this match to shut critic’s mouth. But they got a blow in the form of Fakhar Zaman just a day before the important encounter against Proteas.
