Vivian Richards Predicts The Highest Wicket-Taker Of 2023 ODI World Cup, It’s Not Starc, Bumrah

The ODI World cup is set to start on October 5 and the teams have been preparing and making their players fit for the marquee event. Experts have been continuously giving so much advice and making their bold predictions on the tournament.

Meanwhile, the former West Indian cricketer, Vivian Richards has picked his bowler who can take the maximum wickets in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. With the availability of players like Mitchhell Starc and Jasprit Bumrah, former West Indian legend has picked Pakistani speedster Shaheen Afridi to grab the maximum wickets in the tournament. Richarda made his choice while speaking to ICC.

As the tournament will be played in India, Shaheen Afridi will add an extra value to his bowling as he will get the benefits of playing on subcontinent pitches. The left-arm seamer has got 76 wickets in 39 ODI matches with an average of 23.34 and an economy rate of 5.42.

In the 2019 edition, Mitchell Starc had been the highest wicket-taker where he claimed 27 wickets in just 10 matches. In the same tournament, Shaheen Afridi got 16 wickets.

First match of 2023 ODI World Cup will be played between England and New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The match will be played on October 5. Host nation India to play its first match against Australia on October 8 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
