The beginning of the 8th edition of the T20 World is just a few days ago. Before the start of the super 12 matches, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag who was also part of the inaugural T20 World Cup when India lifted the trophy under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, has picked a battery who can become the top scorer in the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Surprisingly, Sehwag did not pick any Indian name and snubbed the star middle-order Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav who has been in red-hot form since his debut in the T20I. Widely named as Viru, the former Indian feels that the captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team Babar Azam will leave everyone behind to get the maximum runs in the tournament. Not to forget Babar Azam was the leading run scorer in the last edition of the T20 World Cup where Pakistan reached the Semifinal. While discussing the scenario of the T20 World Cup in a special show of Cricbuzz when asked about the leading run-getter, Sehwag replied, “Babar Azam from Pakistan.”
While appreciating Babar Azam the cricketer said, “He has been extraordinary. It’s great fun to watch. There is a sense of calmness whenever Virat Kohli bats and you get something similar when watching Babar,” he said.
