Virat Kohli Will Play Against South Africa T20Is Or Not? Star Batter Confirmed His Decision

The speculation regarding the future of the star Indian batter Virat Kohli is still going on. The batter turned out to be the highest run-getter in the recently concluded ICC ODI World Cup 2023 where he smashed 765 runs in 11 matches including the big final.

Team India is currently facing Australia in a five-match T20I series where men in blue are leading the series 2-1. After this Australia series, BCCI will send its team for the South Africa tour for the white-ball series as well as for the Test Series.

Meanwhile, according to a reliable report, Virat Kohli is not interested in playing the T20I and ODI and he has asked for a break from the white-ball series.

Virat Kohli has communicated his decision to take a break to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The upcoming tour of South Africa includes three T20 internationals, three ODIs, and two Test matches. Kohli’s break implies that he won’t be participating in these fixtures.

“He (Kohli) has informed the BCCI and selectors that he needs a break from white-ball cricket and he will get back to them about when he wants to play white-ball cricket next. At the moment he has informed the BCCI that he will be playing red-ball cricket, which means he is available for selection for the two Test matches in South Africa,” a source said.

The national selection committee led by former India all-rounder Ajit Agarkar will soon select the Indian team across all three formats in the upcoming days.
