Team India For South Africa Tour To Be Announced Next Week, BCCI To Have A Special Meet With Kohli And Rohit On Their T20I Future

Currently, team India is playing a five-match T20I series against Australia in which the men in blue under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav are leading the series by 2-1. After this team, India will be flying to South Africa for both white-ball and Test match series.

The BCCI selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar is expected to announce the squads for the upcoming white-ball series against South Africa sometime within the next week. The Test squad is anticipated to be announced after the completion of India’s A’s tour which includes three four-day matches in December 2023.

The squad will be picked on the weekend of Monday. There are a lot of things to discuss. But before Tests, we play T20s and ODIs, so the squad will be around that,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.

Due to Hardik Pandya’s absence due to an ankle injury that he sustained during the 2023 ODI World Cup, Suryakumar Yadav is likely to lead the team once again in the upcoming three-match series starting on December 10.

Not only the team selection but the BCCI will also take its stance on the future of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the shortest format of the game. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar will also sit with them to know their final thoughts before announcing the team.
