Ashish Nehra Declines The Offer To Become India’s Head Coach In T20Is, BCCI Mulling Over These Two Names For South Africa Tour

According to a recent report, the Board Of Control For Cricket In India(BCCI) has offered Ashish Nehra to be the next head coach of Team India in T20Is after the ODI World Cup final loss to Australia. It is happening as Rahul Dravid does not want to continue as coach.

As per a report by the Indian Express, the former Indian pacer declined the offer. Nehra has enjoyed success in his role as head coach with the Gujarat Titans, leading the team to victory in the 2022 season and securing second place in the 2023 edition.

After Nehra declined the head coach position, the BCCI is reportedly interested in having Rahul Dravid continue as the coach across all three formats. According to reports, the cricket board has extended a contract offer to the former India captain.

Team India captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar share the view that Rahul Dravid should remain as the head coach until the 2024 T20 World Cup.

However, according to a reliable source, Rahul Dravis does not want to commit to Team India for a long time as it will bring a hectic schedule to him.

Currently, team India is playing a five-match T20I series against Australia in which the men in blue under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav are leading the series by 2-1.
