Virat Kohli Called Kraigg Brathwaite’s Bowling Action Illegal

India’s performance on day two of the match against West Indies was spectacular as they finished with a commanding position of 312/2 after 113 overs, securing a lead of 162 runs. The standout performers of the day were Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma, both of whom notched up centuries, providing a solid foundation for the team.

Jaiswal displayed exceptional resilience and concentration, remaining unbeaten on 143 runs from 350 deliveries. His gritty innings showcased his potential and established him as a rising star in Indian cricket. On the other hand, Sharma displayed his class and experience, scoring a well-earned 103 runs from 221 balls, laying the groundwork for India’s dominance.

To take the wicket of Indian batters, they utilized the services of nine bowlers throughout the day. However, their efforts were hampered by the absence of Rahkeem Cornwall, who left the field due to illness. The situation became so dire that Windies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite took it upon himself to bowl, but his unorthodox action did not sit well with Virat Kohli.

During the 79th over, Kohli expressed dissatisfaction with Brathwaite’s bowling action, using “Bhatta phenk raha hai” (He’s throwing darts) while conversing with Jaiswal at the crease. The stump microphone captured the conversation, but no action was taken against Brathwaite as Kohli did not escalate the matter to the on-field umpires.

In addition to the on-field incident, Kohli achieved a personal milestone by surpassing Virender Sehwag’s Test run tally. With an unbeaten knock of 36 runs from 96 balls, Kohli became India’s fifth-highest run-getter in red-ball cricket. This achievement further solidifies Kohli’s status as one of the all-time greats of Indian cricket.
