India will face New Zealand in the third T20I for a housefull decider on February 1, 2023. Before this final game, Suryakumar Yadav has now given a witty reply to a reporter with a reference to MS Dhoni.
A lot of questions were raised after the 2nd T20I played in Lucknow. The pitch was the center of attraction for all cricket experts and players and it was complained about by the captains of both teams. Indian skipper Hardik Pandya claimed it as ‘Shocker ‘and after this, the pitch curator was removed from his further duties.
In the press conference, Suryakumar Yadav addressed the media ahead of the crucial match. The right-hander delivered a humorous reaction when a reporter questioned how he handled the intense pressure scenarios that occurred during the matches and how he consistently finished the game for India in style.
Replying to reporters, Suryakumar Yadav answered, “T20 Ranchi me chalu hua tha toh calm attitude udhar se hi aaya (T20 series started in Ranchi so the calm attitude originated from there).”
Since the T20I series had started in Ranchi, Suryakumar was quick to credit some of the success to MS Dhoni. Due to his reputation for maintaining coolness when leading a side and winning the games for his team, Dhoni has got various names such as ‘Captain Cool’ and the ‘Finisher’.
In this match, when every batter from both the teams was falling short to execute their shots, Suryakumar Yadav scored 26* off 31 deliveries and won the match for India.
