VIDEO: Shah Rukh Khan Gives Standing Ovation To Sunil Narine After Fiery Knock Against Delhi Capitals

In Visakhapatnam, KKR all-rounder Sunil Narine showed impressive form as Kolkata Knight Riders played against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday evening. Once again chosen to open the innings this season, the versatile player aggressively took on the Delhi bowlers right from the start. Narine struck 7 sixes and as many boundaries in his innings but missed out on scoring his first IPL century by only 15 runs.

Narine was effortlessly scoring boundaries all around the field. He reached his fifty in just 21 balls, and before achieving this feat, he hit 3 sixes and 2 boundaries in an over bowled by veteran Ishant Sharma. In the next over, he aggressively faced uncapped pacer Rasikh Dar Salam, scoring 18 runs with 3 boundaries and 2 sixes.

After Phil Salt’s early dismissal, Narine partnered with Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and together they aggressively attacked the Delhi bowling, forming a 104-run partnership for the second wicket. Their explosive batting appeared to be steering KKR towards a formidable total, possibly close to 300, but Mitchell Marsh halted Kolkata’s momentum.

In the 13th over, the Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh delivered a short ball, and Narine attempted to play it but ended up edging it straight to Rishabh Pant behind the stumps. Delhi was greatly relieved as Marsh dismissed the dangerous Narine. However, Narine received a standing ovation from his teammates in the dugout and from the team’s co-owner, Shah Rukh Khan.
