CSK secured their fifth IPL title under Dhoni’s leadership by defeating the Gujarat Titans in last year’s finals. As defending champions, they were one of the first teams to commence their pre-season camp.
In the first match of IPL 2024, Chennai Super Kings will face Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22 at MA Chidambaram Stadium. While the yellow jersey will look to defend their title once again, the Bangalore-based franchise will definitely look to clinch their first-ever title.
However, CSK has some significant setbacks before the start of the season as the star opener Devon Conway has been ruled out due to injury while young pacer Matheesha Pathirana will also not be available for the team for a couple of matches at the initial stage.
