In the 13th match of the IPL 2024, Chennai Super Kings lost the match against Delhi Capitals by 20 runs. The match was played at Vizag and it was the first victory of DC in the IPL 2024 edition. However, the fans in the stadium enjoyed the super strike by MS Dhoni as the wicketkeeper batter came to bat for the first time in this edition.
One more performance that steeled the fan’s heart was David Warner’s catch by Matheesha Pathirana. In the match, Warner seemed like he was going to score a lot of runs, but Chennai Super Kings got an important wicket with a great catch by Matheesha Pathirana.
At the beginning of the innings, David Warner and Prithvi Shaw made a flying start by scoring 62 runs in the first six overs. After the powerplay as well the batters kept going where Warner completed his half-century and it looked very tough for CSK bowlers to control these batters.
But the important wicket was taken by their best bowler of the season, Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman. He bowled a well-placed delivery, and Warner tried to hit a reverse shot over the third-man fielder.
While diving to his full extent, Pathirana caught the ball, giving CSK the important breakthrough to change the momentum in their favor.

In the 13th match of the IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals beat Chennai Super Kings by 20 runs at Vizag. With this win, Delhi Capitals has opened their account in the tournament after two back-to-back defeats.
Meanwhile, the fans at Vizag were once again mesmerized to see the vintage MS Dhoni back in action. Dhoni smashed 37 runs in just 16 balls with the help of two fours and three mighty sixes with a strike rate of 231.25. The fans at Vizag were highly delighted to see the dashing batter in style irrespective of the result which came against CSK.
Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bat first. David Warner and Prithvi Shaw gave a flying start to DC and added 93 runs for the first wicket. Warner got out on 52 runs while Shaw scored 43 runs. The captain of the team Rishabh Pant also displayed his batting destruction and scored 51 runs in just 32 balls.
While chasing the target of 192, Chennai had a poor start and they kept on losing the wicket at regular intervals. Ajinkya Rahane was the highest scorer for the team with 45 runs. Daryl Mitchell also got 34 runs and then Dhoni at the end came with his 37-run innings.
