Venkatesh Prasad’s T20 World Cup Stand: No Place for Pandya, Rahul

There isn’t much time left until the players who are going to represent India in the upcoming T-20 World Cup will be shortlisted. There are a number of spots up for grabs in India’s squad. However, the main criteria for selection remains IPL.

Nevertheless, team India’s former cricketer, Venketesh Prasad, wants to see some changes in team India’s set-up.

In his recent post on X Prasad, he wrote about the inclusion of young players like Shivam Dube and even put emphasis on including players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Venketesh Prasad wrote, “Shivam Dube for his striking ability against spinners, Surya for being the best T20 international batter, and Rinku Singh for his exceptional finishing ability. It will be great if India finds a way to have these three in the 11 in the T20 World Cup. With Virat and Rohit, this will leave a spot for just a keeper batsman. It’s interesting to see how it pans out.”

It was shocking to see that Venketesh Prasad did not include players like Kl Rahul and Hardik Pandya in India’s batting lineup.
Both players have so far also failed to light up the IPL with their performances.

On the other hand, players like Shivam Dube, Suryakumar Yadav, and Rinku Singh have done exceptionally well for Team India in the past  year.
