Varun Chakravarthy gets reprimanded by BCCI due to this reason Check out

CRIC Informer

Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Varun Chakaravarthy has been fined 25% of his match fee and given one demerit point for breaking the IPL Code of Conduct during the game against Chennai Super Kings. CSK, who aren’t in the playoff race anymore, beat KKR by two wickets at Eden Gardens on Wednesday, putting an end to Ajinkya Rahane’s team’s chances of making it to the top four.

Chakaravarthy accepted the penalty for a Level 1 violation under Article 2.5 and agreed to the Match Referee’s ruling. The IPL statement didn’t detail the incident, but Article 2.5 covers any language, action, or gesture a player directs at a batter after their dismissal that might trigger a reaction from them.

Chakaravarthy, who took two wickets, had gestured towards Dewald Brevis to leave the field after getting him out on 52 runs, which was important for CSK’s win. KKR still has two league matches left, against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 10 and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 17, both away from home.
