Usman Khwaja Joins The Elite List With VVS Laxman After Scoring Ton On SCG

Veteran Australian batter Usman Khawaja continued his tremendous performance in test cricket. Playing the last test match against the Proteas, Usman hit another ton. He became the fourth Australian and seventh worldwide batter to join the elite list who have scored four or more consecutive centuries at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

However, with this century, Khawaja became the fourth player to score three consecutive hundreds at the SCG. Earlier, he scored a hundred in both innings of the Ashes Test against England here last year. The three players who have done this earlier are Australian duo Wally Hammond, Doug Walters, and India’s Laxman.

Australia is playing the third and last test match against South Africa at Sydney Cricket Ground. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first; the start of the Kangaroos wasn’t good, and they lost the important batter David Warner on just 12 runs.

But Marnus and another opener batter Usman Khawaja made the partnership of 130 runs for the 2nd wicket, and the South African veteran pacer dismissed him at an individual score of 79 runs. Whereas on the other end, Usman was standing like a wall and completed the century and still standing on the crease on the individual of 195* at the end of day 2, and former skipper Steve Smith scored another ton at SCG and was dismissed by Maharaj on 104 runs.

Young wicketkeeper batter of Australia, Travis Head gave another impressive performance with the red ball and got out on the ball of Rabada on 70; Matt Ranshaw is also playing on the 5* runs.

However, the host have won the series by 2-0, and the visitors will try to
win the last test match in this series.
