Pakistan’s ex-all-rounder and Islamabad United player, Imad Wasim, delivered a match-winning performance in the PSL final against the Multan Sultans.
Imad Wasim picked up five wickets in the final; however, in spite of such a stealthy performance with the ball, Imad Wasim was involved in a controversy as the all-rounder was caught smoking in the dressing room.
Imad Wasim was caught on camera smoking, and the video went viral all over social media, for which the all-rounder received a lot of backlash from the fans.
Wasim registered phenomenal figures of 5/23, helping his team restrict Mulan to 159/9.
The Imad Wasim side won the final by two wickets.
Speaking on his performance, Imad Wasim said, “I didn’t know that it would go on to be the best ever tournament. I just wanted to have an impact on the team’s win. It was a new experience—taking five wickets in the final. We took the lesson that we should’ve finished it one over earlier. I’m happy playing cricket. I am trying my utmost to contribute to the team. 4-5 years of cricket left in me.”
On the other hand, Islamabad United skipper Shadab Khan talked about the technical aspects of the game.

In his post-match presentation, Shadab Khan said, “I felt that the more time I had, I could utilize it better with bat. At numbers 6–7, I don’t have the power game. I have tried to fix my technical issues as a bowler. That’s a long process, and the improvements will come.
Watching the match is tough for me. In the middle, I don’t feel pressure, but watching it from outside is tough. I make life difficult for people next to me as well, so I don’t sit with batters who are supposed to walk in next. A special mention goes to the owners who have backed me. I was captain for five years, and we didn’t reach the final, but they backed me. There are a lot of things I feel make this trophy very important for us.”
