Unraveling The ‘Another MS Dhoni’ Comparison From Sunil Gavaskar: Dhruv Jurel’s Response

Team India’s young wicketkeeper batsman, Dhruv Jurel, has been the talk of the town after the young wicketkeeper showed his potential on the international stage by playing a knock of 90 against England in Ranchi.

Dhurv Jurel played a sublime innings of 90 odd runs and was one of the major reasons for India’s fightback in the fourth test match of the series after the hosts were reduced to 177/7.

Dhurv Jurel stretched a 76-run partnership, followed by a 40-run partnership with Kuldeep Yadav and Akashdeep.

Seeing his composure in such a pressure situation, one of the greatest openers of the game, Sunil Gavaskar, hailed Jurel as “another Ms. Dhoni in making.”

However, the young wicketkeeper missed his maiden test century by a margin of 10 runs as he got out on 90.

Jurel later responded to the comments made by the former test opener by saying, “Obviously, it’s a good feeling to hear a legend like Sunil Gavaskar talk about me. The mood was great; there were no specific instructions as such. It was just to go out and play. Watch the ball and play. Just that the longer I play, the better it is.”.

On being asked about missing his debut century by a small margin, Dhruv Jurel said that he has no regrets about missing out on his hundred, as his ultimate goal is to lift the trophy and win the series for India.

Jurel further stated that it was his childhood dream to play Test cricket for India. Team India is currently leading the series by 2-1.
