After the 3-match T20I series against Australia, now Team India will look forward to the 3-match T20I series and this time against South Africa.
The squad for this T20 series has already been announced and except for Bhuvaneshvar Kumar and Hardik Pandya, all the members are almost the same and were the part of Australia T20I series.
According to the latest report, India’s young fast bowler Umran Malik has been added to the squad in place of Mohammad Shami. However, he is there on standby for the series against Proteas.
Shami had been there for the T20 series against Australia, but he got tested positive for Covid before the start of the Australian series, eventually making space for Umesh Yadav.
Umran Malik had an excellent performance in IPL 2022, after which he got the maiden call-up. Umran made his international debut against Ireland in June. He was also part of India A for the series against New Zealand A.
The South African team visited India this year in June where a 5-match T20I series was played between both teams. The series ended at 2-2 for both teams and the final match of the series was washed out due to rain.
