Recently, India won the 3-match T20I series against Australia. India won the final match by 6 wickets, boosting their confidence before going to the 8th edition of the T20 World Cup next month.
For the same match Indian all-rounder Deepak Hooda was said to be injured. The decider between India and Australia was played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Before the match, Indian cricket management informed about the back injury of Deepak Hooda.
The injury update of Hooda was disclosed before the toss which says,” Hooda wasn’t available for selection for the third #INDvAUS T20I owing to a back injury.” However, it is still not clear how severe this injury is and if Hooda does not acquire fitness in the upcoming weeks, he may rule out of the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Deepak Hooda was included as the prime replacement for injured Ravindra Jadeja during the Asia Cup tournament. However, Team India is going with Axar Patel match after match, giving clear indication for the world cup.
Hooda has been one of the most consistent member of Team India since IPL 2022. The all-rounder played for Lucknow Supergiants where he scored 451 runs. An official confirmation over the injury of Deepak Hooda is still awaited.
