‘To Be Number 1 Death Bowler In A Team Which Has Rabada…’: KL Rahul’s Massive Statement On Arshdeep Singh After 1st T20I

KL Rahul made a significant remark on young left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh after his stunning performance against South Africa in the opener match of the series.

What a delightful 8 wickets victory by Team India in the 1st T20I of the three-match series at Thiruvananthapuram. Last night the bowler showed a stellar performance by the Indian team. After losing the toss, Proteas team scored 106/8 in 20 overs. Chasing down the total, on a difficult pitch, Indian opener batter KL Rahul played a sensible inning of 51* runs, whereas Suryakumar Yadav played a blazing inning of 50*, helping India to chase the total in 17th overs. In the bowling, young Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar exploited the conditions very well and , and the young duo drowns the South African with the ball.

Arshdeep’s performance has been excellent since IPL 2022; he made his debut in the Asia Cup this year for the Indian national team and showed why he was selected as the best emerging player in the IPL 2022. His Yorker deliveries in the death overs are his stock delivery. Yesterday, he performed very well with a figure of 3/32 in his quota of 4 overs. His bowling partner Deepak Chahar also provided him good company by taking 2 wickets in 4 overs.

After the game, Indian vice-captain KL Rahul praised Arshdeep Singh and said, “He’s (Arshdeep) growing with each game, and with each outing, he is getting better, he is somebody who has a big heart, and I have seen him in close quarters while playing in the IPL.”

Arshdeep Singh was the leading pacer of the Punjab Kings in IPL, and had captained the franchise in previous editions. The players understood each other very well, and the left-arm pacer had performed consistently under his leadership.

“This season, what he did for his franchise was phenomenal, and to be the number one death bowler in a team with Rabada speaks highly of him. We always want a left-arm seamer, and it is great to have someone like Arshdeep,” Rahul further added.The young left-arm pacer was rested in the home series against Australia. In the comeback match, the way he bowled was outstanding. He is also part of India’s 15-member squad for the T20 world cup 2022. But before the mega event on Aussies soil, India have to play the rest two matches of the series against Proteas in Gwalior and Indore.
