Tilak Varma Gives This Major Reason After A Close Loss To West Indies In The 2nd T20I

The left-handed batter of Mumbai Indians, Tilak Varma has made his international debut with the T20I series against West Indies. He scored 39 in the first match and then a solid 51 in the second game. He showed a consistent performance for MI and from there he got a way for the team.

Even after a good performance in the 2nd T20I, India lost the game by 2 wickets and now they have three more games to make a comeback. Tilak Varma’s composed innings proved crucial as India managed to set a target above 150. Despite India’s strong bowling performance in initial overs, Nicholas Pooran’s impressive 67 off 40 balls shifted the momentum in favor of the West Indies.

The 20-year-old Tilak expressed that the Indian team believed a score between 150 and 160 was competitive, however, an extra 10 runs would have been beneficial. The young batter also lauded Nicholas Pooran for his remarkable innings.

According to Cricbuzz, Tilak Varma said,”The wicket was on the slower side and two-paced. We thought 150-160 would’ve been a good score. Maybe we fell 10 runs short, but it was a good performance (by our batters).”

He further added,”Of course, credit to Pooran because he has batted really well. He put the pressure on the bowlers. We knew that if we could get one wicket, we could save the game because the wicket was on the slower side and it wasn’t that easy to bat. It was a bowler’s wicket. Unfortunately, it’s such a funny game, it can turn around and we could’ve made a comeback.”
