Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra thinks that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is a strong team as they approach IPL 2024.
In IPL 2023, SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) won just four matches, finishing at the bottom. Their squad for IPL 2024 sees limited changes, with Harry Brook being their major release at ₹13.25 crore. They made notable acquisitions in Pat Cummins where they secured the services of Pat Cummins in INR 20.50 crore and Travis Head in INR 6.80 crore.
While having a conversation on his Youtube Channel, Chopra expressed that in his opinion, SunRisers Hyderabad had a team capable of making it to the playoffs in the previous IPL edition.
He said,”This is one team that is looking rock solid on paper. The team was good last year as well. If you saw on paper, they were an excellent team. They should have qualified for sure but were revolving around the bottom of the table.”
The ex-India opener anticipates that the IPL 2016 champions will contend for the title in the upcoming edition of the prestigious league.
Aakash Chopra said,” When the team was good last year, didn’t release too many players, and have strengthened the team even further, they should reach the top four. I won’t be surprised at all if they are seen close to the podium.”
