According to a fresh report of National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been found to give the most number of drug tests. According to data displayed on the Website, the left-arm player has undergone three doping tests during this time.
In the first five months of this year, a total of 55 cricketers, including both male and female athletes were asked for drug tests. Notably, a majority of these tests, above fifty percent, were carried out when the players were not actively participating in competitions which is a remarkable step by Nada.
While going through data, it’s evident that NADA gathered 54 and 60 samples from cricketers during 2021 and 2022, respectively. Also, during the same timeframe this year, prominent figures like India’s captain Rohit Sharma and well-known batter Virat Kohli were not asked for any kind of Test.
In April, the star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, underwent an urine test. In comparison, over the course of 2021 and 2022, Rohit Sharma underwent testing with three samples each year, whereas Virat Kohli remained exempt from NADA’s testing procedures.
Other Indian cricketers who participated in doping tests between January and May include Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, and Mohammed Siraj, among several others. Not only this, foreign players such as David Warner, Rashid Khan, and Jofra Archer were also asked for for Test during the IPL 2023.
