“This Could Be His Last ODI World Cup’, Dinesh Karthik Praises This Indian Star For Playing Selfless Game

The skipper of the Indian Cricket Team Rohit Sharma has shown continuous dynamic performance with the bat as an opener. Team India will be heavily dependent on the batting of Rohit in the upcoming World Cup 2023 along with the young and talented opener Shubman Gill.

The veteran Indian wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik feels that Rohit Sharma has translated his words into actions. He emphasised that Rohit’s focus is not on personal run-scoring but on winning the ODI World Cup which is set to commence on October 5. The experienced cricketer also pointed out that Rohit was the top run-scorer in the previous edition of the tournament and expects him to maintain that same level of aggression in the upcoming season.

“He is somebody who has changed his game so much. He was the highest run-getter in the 2019 World Cup. Even if he gets half the runs, I don’t think he will care. He has said himself that he doesn’t care about the runs he gets. It’s all about trying to win this World Cup. The one that he has made sure is to walk the talk. He is always in a hurry to get Team India off to a good start and putting the opponent bowlers to rest,” Karthik told CricBuzz.

Dinesh Karthik said that this is Rohit Sharma’s last ODI World Cup and he will put all his efforts and sweat to take the team to a title.

He (Rohit Sharma) is made for big things and has achieved a lot in his career. In many ways, this could be his last ODI World Cup. He’s been a very close friend of mine. We have literally grown together as players and as people,” Karthik stated.
