His outstanding performance played a pivotal role in India’s success in the cricket world especially during the Asia Cup 2023. He has earned the prestigious distinction of being the top wicket-taker for India in men’s ODIs for the year 2023 where he has grabbed 33 wickets.
Yadav’s display during the Asia Cup 2023 was remarkable. In a game against Pakistan, he managed to claim five wickets, giving away only 25 runs in eight overs. This stellar performance played a crucial role in India’s convincing win by a margin of 228 runs.
Harbhajan Singh has picked the ideal bowling lineup for team India for the tournament. He picked Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami. While picking the spin option he chose R Ashwin over Kuldeep Yadav.
While talking to Cricinfo, Harbhajan Singh said,”If you want a proven bowler, I would go with R Ashwin alongside Ravindra Jadeja. Yes, because Ashwin can bat as well.”
