‘There Is No Concern About His Batting. He Is A Big Player’, Batting Coach Vikram Rathour Talks On Rohit Sharma’s Form

The batting coach of Team India Vikram Rathour has stated that there are no worries regarding the batting form of captain Rohit Sharma leading up to the first Test against West Indies in Dominica. Talking about Rohit’s remarkable performance of scoring a century in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, Rathour stated that the skipper has the ability to assess all kinds of conditions.

In the first Test against West Indies, Rohit Sharma came up with his 10th Test century where he scored 103 runs in 221 balls. He also stitched a solid partnership of 229 runs with the debutante Yashasvi Jaiswal.

During a press conference held on Sunday(July 16), batting coach sidelined all the concerns regarding Rohit’s batting and he discussed India’s victory over the hosts.

Vikram said,”In the last series versus Australia also, he scored a hundred. There is no concern about his batting. The good thing is that being somebody who is a stroke player, he is able to change his game to that extent [as per the situation]. He did it against Australia and here as well.”

He further added,”He understands how to play on such wickets. Knowing that you need to change your game is one thing but being able to do that is different. He can do that. He was able to execute his plans. We all know that he is a big player and he showed his potential.”
