“The world won’t end if he…..” Aakash Chopra Suggested BCCI To Take Action On Bumrah Fitness Over IPL 2023

Indian star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been out from action since September 2022 due to his back injury. He played his last match against Australia before the T20 World Cup 2022. After that, cricketing fans miss him in important tournaments like the T20 World Cup and the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy with the red ball. But it’s an anticipation that he will be available for the Indian Premier League 2023 with Mumbai Indians. Everyone is excited to see him after a year on the field with his lethal Yorker deliveries.

Observing the same issues, former Indian cricketer and renowned commentator Aakash Chopra advised that if Bumrah feels uncomfortable, the BCCI (the governing body of Indian cricketers) shouldn’t release him for the Indian Premier League 2023 because the nation comes first for any player.

“You’re an Indian player first, and then play for your franchise. So if Bumrah feels discomfort, the BCCI will step in and tell the franchise that we will not release him. The world won’t end if he doesn’t play seven games with Jofra Archer.” Said Aakash Chopra.

Chopra added that looking at his fitness Bumrah needs plenty of time, although he is a national treasure, and BCCI should step in his case. And also added that MI will pay his full fees if BCCI makes any interruption regarding him.

“At the same time, when you’re fit, you want to keep on playing as that only makes you better. So I feel MI will pay heed to it if BCCI steps in because he is a national treasure, and things aren’t as difficult to manage as they seem to be now, ” Chopra added.

This year Indian team will play many important series in every format. After the Indian Premier League, the Indian team will play World Test Championship 2021-23. Then they will feature for Asia Cupp 2023 in ODI format just after the Asian Cup men in the blue clash with the top team for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 in India. These series are all important for the Indian team because, after 2013, they haven’t won any ICC trophies.
